Criminal Justice Students Learn Dangers of Distracted Driving
Save a Life Tour Driving Simulators Visit Tech Center
GRAND RAPIDS, MI – Students in the Criminal Justice program at Kent Career Tech Center will get hands-on experience learning the dangers of distracted driving with Save a Life Tour driving simulators. The national program aimed at educating the public about the dangers of distracted driving is making a stop at the Tech Center on January 18.
The Tech Center’s Criminal Justice instructors work with area police to teach students how driving while distracted or operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol or another substance can greatly reduce driving abilities and increase the likelihood of having an accident.
“We are proud to have an outstanding Criminal Justice program led by industry professionals where student cadets learn about careers in law enforcement, investigation, and the legal system,” said Kent Career Tech Center Principal Joe Lienesch. “Teaching all students about the dangers of distracted driving is an important service that can save lives.”
The Save a Life Tour is bringing virtual reality driving simulators to the Tech Center where students can experience what it would be like to operate a vehicle while distracted or impaired. The Save A Life Tour is sponsored by the Michigan Department of Transportation. Media is invited to join the experience:
